In these chapters we begin to see the emerging pattern of the Jews rejecting the message of Christ and the Gentiles progressively opening their hearts and minds to the truth and power of the Gospel. Paul and the other Apostles experience opposition, abuse and significant threats and yet they do not hold back, in fact they push ahead with their desire to fulfil the command of the Lord to take the gospel to every place they can. Often we see opposition as a sign that something is going wrong, it is interesting that the disciples saw it totally differently: opposition was a sign that they were making progress and therefore they rejoiced in it. Also within chapter 13 we have another of Paul's sermons where he points back to the Old Testament in order to explain and contextualise what is happening in the current world. Enjoy your day and enjoy your reading!
